Research and review methodology

How KumoCart separates platform facts, market signals, editorial judgment, and documented hands-on testing.

Every KumoCart page carries an evidence label. The label describes the strongest evidence behind the page; it is not a quality score.

Evidence ladder

  1. Official: current platform documentation, changelogs, policy pages, specifications, or first-party technical material.
  2. Sourced: official material combined with independent primary research or clearly attributed community evidence.
  3. Tested: a versioned KumoCart experiment with environment, method, inputs, output, limitations, and reproduction steps.
  4. Mixed: useful evidence exists, but material claims still depend on vendor statements or incomplete field reports.
  5. Opinion: an explicit editorial model or interpretation, never presented as a platform fact.

Source hierarchy

Capability, policy, pricing, and availability claims begin with the vendor’s current official source. Specifications and open-source repositories outrank commentary about them. Community discussions identify pain and vocabulary; they do not become factual evidence by repetition. Creator essays, including one-person-business writing, are perspective sources.

Tool reviews

We record official URL, integration depth, ideal and poor-fit use cases, limitations, alternatives, price-check date, affiliate status, and last verification date. A precise rating is omitted until a documented test supports it. Affiliate commission never changes editorial ordering.

Update rules

Fast-moving platform and pricing facts require a verification date. Material changes are recorded in the page change log. When a source and a previous article conflict, the current primary source wins and the article is corrected transparently.
